Good spreading proper technique. Tbh I've had my sub and amp done by others twice and the grounds were always a little lazy, just drilled into the chassis one and done. I've since had to install the same setup 3 times and have done it way better without any effort. I sand down the surface with 60 grit to bare metal, use a big self tapper drilling it tight but not stripping the thread, can add a bit of loctite if worried about loosening but it's never happened to me. Top it off with clear coat over the finished grounding and once dried if you want to be a super pro, add peteolium jelly over the connection to completely lock it off from any outside elements
Sounds good my friend💪🏾💪🏾
Peteolium jelly trick is mainly to keep battery terminals corrosion and rust free by covering and keeping water out. Overkill for a ground if run in the interior but y not
@@Maxst33le That or some Di-Electric grease ! Its clear unlike the Petroleum jelly but either way it works great 😀
I came here with plenty of knowledge on a good ground, but you just never know what you can learn and I still learned some valuable stuff. I’ve been using threaded inserts for years and love em. I’ll be combining that perfect circle wire brush with them going forward. I also didn’t realize those bolts paired with the lock washer and serrated nut were self tap. That’ll be added to the arsenal as well. Finding myself on this channel more and more
You can never stop learning and I try to gain knowledge so I can spread it. Tha ks for watching
Thanks for all the help you upload
Anytime💪🏾
Pure fire! Great video.
Thanks brother 💪🏾💪🏾
Very detailed. Great video
I have that threated rivet tool. Man I hope it shows a good ground
The thumbnail gave me PTSD.
Me too, in a way that I can't even describe. It almost pisses me off 😂
😂 doing the thumbnail made me cringe a little myself but it had to be done🤣
Just use a pre drill than a tap threader set and the right size bokt if you metal is thick enough and you don’t need a nut cause it makes its own threads I’d still use a star lock washer or bolt that has a locking head. ? Bi like that wire sander with the point that sweet.
Great video 👍
Thank you💪🏾
Looks like #4 has a lip on it . Does the connector make 100% contact with the metal or the threaded insert?
Great video
Thank you
Straight off the battery always worked best for me
What do you think about using the seat belt bolts in the car?
I dont use them but if you can check resistance on the point and if it's close to 0 should be ok
Is one ground from the battery to chassis all you need or depending on how much power you have? Also can you just wire the amp ground to the battery then battery to chassis or amp ground to chassis and battery to chassis? I’m new to car audio and I want to learn.
The battery is always the best ground or straight off the alt
The best way to ground is a minimum of 1 box of screws per CM of course 0.0
my amp is always going into protect mode i have a fosgate p3sd2-10 2 ohm wired to a fosgate 300w amp do i just need a bigger amp?
Where did u get the tool that makes the perfect circle for the paint removal and what is it called? Do u have a Link ?
I'm still trying to find where I got that from when I find it I'll link it with the other products in my description
I just posted a video about running lithium under the hood! So I wouldn’t have to go with a battery in the back
There are lithium batteries that can be mounted under the hood but this one was not one of them 😂🤣
Nice video
Thank you
@jptheinstallguy still waiting on the grand marquis video. For running 1/ 0 gauge amp wire to back or 2 1/0gauge wires. Ha ik it's some kind of snakes thing people use
@jptheinstallguy ha I got. A guy use a coat hanger n attach the wire to eat with tape but if u do a video tagged me in it
What is the drill attachment for the 3rd option called?
That's just a 1/4 inch extension and a 13mm socket
@@jptheinstallguy I meant the round sander thing for scrapping the paint
Nut and bolt are the only option
Agreed 👍🏾
Pozitivground kit. The only way to go. If your shop owner is too cheap to buy the kit, find a new place to work
Yes i love that kit
I don't even use screws in the first place.
That's awesome
2:00 I understand you're trying to make a point but that wasn't even tight!
Who the eff puts three screws in 😂
Great instructions, but i dont think we need to let people get away with the second method anymore. It still leaves a lot of room for error, making it just slightly better then the first method.
Wiggle the cable around a couple of times with the second method and it bet its able to rotate.
Yea im not exactly encouraging anyone do options 1 or 2 but we also have to be realistic that some people aren't going to invest in the tools and products to complete options 3 and 4. So if someone is going to use self tappers I rather you not do option 1 at all
no ohms testing, disappointment
You must not have watched the whole video
@@jptheinstallguyyou didn t test them separately with a multimeter
